It’s almost Valentine’s Day, again.
Valentine’s Day has never been my favorite holiday. It all stems from grade school days and the parties we would have where you have to bring a Valentine for every kid in the class. Believe it or not, your favorite messy mama got picked on quite a bit as a kid, so those parties always irritated me because I had to give Valentines to classmates I didn’t necessarily like, and vice versa. Now it’s irritating because I’m the mom of a kid who has to take Valentine’s for every kid in his class.
But I digress. As an adult, Valentine’s Day is more enjoyable because I have a partner to share it with. Giving gifts to those we care about can be fun, but challenging. It’s easy to do the usual flowers, cards and chocolates. But flowers wilt, cards get stuffed in drawers or thrown away, and chocolate makes you (me) fat. The hubs and I tend to get each other techie gifts or items related to our hobbies and interests. Gifts like these are so much more personal than the typical Valentine’s Day fare, and last longer than a week!
I’ve compiled a list of nine unique Valentine’s gifts for the man in your life. Whether you’ve been together for a month, or 20 years, there’s a little something for everyone.

1. HUBS T-Shirt
How cute and simple is this shirt? According to the seller, “this unique Hubs tee was designed with love and screen printed by hand. All artwork is original and printed on a high-quality, super soft American Apparel tee. Photographed in black ink on a heather gray crew neck shirt. Intended to be paired with matching “Wifey” tee or tank, links below! The perfect shirt for the groom on his honeymoon, wedding day, bachelor party, and beyond!” Find it at TheOystersPearl on Etsy.
If you haven’t experienced the gloriousness that is Man Crates, I highly recommend checking them out as soon as possible. This crate is one of the many awesome gift boxes available. The eight cup coffee percolator comes with two personalized stainless steel mugs, a bag of San Francisco’s finest French Roast, and two Simple Squares bars. Get the details and pick one up at Man Crates, here.
3. Date Night Bucket List
I don’t know about other married couples with kids, but it can be hard to think of adventurous things to do together when date night finally comes around. Enter the Date Night Bucket List. The birch wood sticks offer up ideas from stargazing to attending lectures together. Write the date the activity was completed on the back of the stick with the provided pencil. Check it out at Uncommon Goods, here.
So, I’m going to be honest and say that I was happily married by the time Tinder was a thing. But I thought this mug was super funny for a relatively new couple or for a partner with a good sense of humor. Plus it’s handmade – and I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m a huge supporter of handmade business. Pick this mug up at fieldtrip on Etsy.
5. Father/Son Matching Space Play Shirts
These shirts are stinkin’ cute! Honestly I may pick these up for the hubs and the boys this Valentine’s Day. The Dad tee is even available in glow in the dark! Mom wants some free time? Just throw on this shirt, lay on the floor and pretend to be a road. Built-in fun! Get the details on these fun shirts at bkykid on Etsy.
6. Muscle Hustle Fitness Crate
If your main squeeze is a fitness buff, this is the gift for him. This crate is loaded with goodies like SKLZ Core Wheels, a SKLZ adjustable jump rope, a Cyclone Shaker Bottle and a Hammer nutrition supplement starter kit. This would be a fantastic gift for the seasoned gym fat or the guy in your life that’s trying to get fit. Check it out on Man Crates here.
7. Keychain for a Special Stepfather
I couldn’t compile a list of gifts for men without including something for all of the amazing Stepfathers out there. This simple handmade keychain holds a quote sweet enough to make any guy feel loved. Get more information at SweetlySpokenJewelry on Etsy.
8. Skyline of Love
This customized monochrome picture would look fantastic in his office at work or home. You and your partner’s names and wedding date compliment the city skyline you hold dear. This is definitely a personal gift that would be cherished for years to come. To find out if your city is on the list, head on over to Uncommon Goods.
9. Personalized Coordinates Ring
For some reason, I find these extremely charming. As an anniversary gift to the hubs a couple years ago, I got him a leather bracelet that had the coordinates of our wedding venue engraved on it. He loves it, but has a tendency to lose things (he’s the first to admit this), so it sits safely in my jewelry case. Maybe a ring is a better way to go.
